Crawford International School opening

Nairobi, 7th December 2018… Crawford International School has announced plans to officially launch the school in Kenya on 25th January 2019. The announcement was made on the side-lines of the school’s thanksgiving ceremony, coming three months after the initial opening to its students in September 2018.    

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Jenny Coetzee, Managing Director, Crawford International School, Kenya expressed her delight at the strides the school was making in establishing a foothold in the Kenyan market. ‘We have seen an ever-increasing interest from the Kenyan people in seeking international, yet locally relevant education systems in Kenya that can impart their children the right way and foster their career growth and development. We are extremely proud to see the growing interest from parents and guardians in the school and I would like to thank everyone that has been part of this journey since September. I am happy to announce that we will be celebrate the official opening of the school in January 2019.We have started off with more than 120 pupils, a record number for any of our establishments around the world’, she said.   

‘I would like to thank parents who have expressed interest in the school and have been part of us for the first term that is ending today. I would also like to thank our community of academics as well as the pupils who are the real reason we are here today. We have enjoyed immense support from everyone’, she added.

Present at the ceremony were representatives from International Finance Corporation lead by Principal Investment Officer and Equity Lead Mr Ken Osei, who lauded Crawford for seeking to make a positive impact in society. ‘I am impressed with the facility I have seen here today, and I would like to congratulate the management of the school, as well as all other stakeholders for giving the Kenyan community a chance to experience a global brand in education for their learning. This, we are certain, will leave a lasting positive impression in the lives of all that will undertake their education here. We will be looking for partnership opportunities with the school in order to further support this dream’, he said.

During the ceremony, Crawford international school also introduced the institution’s advisory board which is led by Dr Hezron McObewa, in a move geared at giving the institution a Kenya-led outlook. The advisory board members, who are currently serving on an interim basis, will formally begin serving in their roles from January 2019. The other members of the board are Ms Maureen Mujera and Mr. Wainaina Keujanjui.
